EXPERIENCE

DUBAI EXPO 2020 

STRATEGIC MUSIC ADVISOR (CONSULTANT), 2020 - PRESENT

  • Collaborating with grammy and oscar award winning icon A.R. Rahman on a 15 billion dollar project to assemble the first all-female orchestra in the Middle East.

  • Building strategic partnerships with companies like Newzik, Live Nation, Facebook, Spotify, The Grammy Museum, Audeze, Disney, PMC (Billboard, Rollingstone, Variety) and high-profile artists for performances and studio recordings

  • Providing guidance on themes for the concerts, artists recruitment, scores, orchestra legacy development and management.

  • Identifying and scouting female musicians for specific instrument categories within the 17 regional countries to include: UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine.

  • Initiate potential board of directors to support the orchestra's establishment, sustainability and growth, taking into consideration the budget and programming elements

  • Proposing and executing a transition plan for the Firdaus orchestra to move from Expo 2020 to its legacy mode, including timelines, roles, responsibilities and outlining requirements

  • Management of orchestra formation, structure and funding.

  • Identifying potential sources of revenue (endowments, donations etc.) and other such activities that would enable the orchestra to function and sustain as an independent entity after March 31, 2022

  • Developing a structure for the funding requirements for each year and organise how the targets can be reached.

  • Building a funding model with specific funding partners (corporate/individual/other) and other revenue models with yearly targets.

  • Reaching out to potential investors and organisations for funding and sponsorships.

 

BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC 

SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR, MIDDLE EAST & INDIA, 2015 - PRESENT

  • Co-founder of the Berklee India Exchange, a collaborative project that activates Indian musicians while leveraging Berklee resources to celebrate the heritage of their native music, present sold out concerts and gain access to the university’s workshops, scholarships and mentorship opportunities.

  • 15 + years experience working with high-profile artists and talent management.

  • Managed key corporate partnerships and strategic alliances with brands including Facebook, Google, Intel, Shure, GRAMMY Museum, Yamaha, Avid, Casio, Audeze, Furtados School of Music, Universal Music.

  • Developed and implemented strategy for brand awareness campaigns and collaborations with high-profile artists including Grammy and Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman; renowned Bollywood vocalist/composer Shankar Mahadevan; Bollywood queen of soul vocalist Shreya Ghoshal; Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain; and global icons to include Quincy Jones, Steve Vai, George Clinton and Michael League, Stephen Oremus, Kris Allen and many more.

  • Developed and marketed Berklee India Exchange’s viral content to massive success with over 180 million views on Berklee’s youtube channel.

  • Played a key role in establishing the Berklee Abu Dhabi Center, to grow Berklee’s international footprint and discover talent from the MENA region.

  • Opened new marketing channels and established strategic alliances in the US, The Middle East and Southeast Asia.

  • Raised over $1.8 million to support scholarships for students at Berklee.

DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP & PARTNERSHIPS, 2009 - 2015

  • Led pre-college creative youth development programs in music and the performing arts, including programs impacting over 100,000 North American youth.

  • Worked with McKinsey & Company to develop and implement business models and key partner support processes. 

  • Strategist on Berklee project to incorporate music content in curricula for elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools.

  • Developed business plan and outlined financial objectives for Berklee City Music, while managing 48 domestic and international network sites.

  • Managed Berklee’s pre-college outreach program Berklee’s online music learning platform Berklee PULSE.

 

AMERICAN FEDERATION OF MUSICIANS (AFM)
